Auto-Post Betting Tips to Telegram & Discord (Step-by-Step)

OwnTheGame auto-posting new betting tips to Telegram and Discord.

If you run a tipster site, you already know the boring part: you publish a pick… then you copy it to Telegram… then you copy it again to Discord.

That manual work wastes time, causes mistakes, and slows down what matters most: getting your new prediction in front of subscribers fast.

In this guide, you’ll learn how to auto post betting tips to Telegram and Discord so every new pick/prediction is shared automatically – no copy/paste, no stress.

What this automation does (and why subscribers love it)

When auto-posting is enabled, your audience gets your new betting tip instantly. That means:

  • ✅ Faster delivery (people don’t miss odds)
  • ✅ More consistency (you don’t forget a post)
  • ✅ More trust (you look organized and professional)

For any handicapper building a paid community, speed + consistency is a big part of retention.

What you need before you start

For Telegram

  • A Telegram bot token (created via BotFather)
  • A Telegram channel or group where your picks should be posted
  • The bot added as an admin (so it can post)

For Discord

  • A Discord webhook URL (simple + reliable)
  • Permission to Manage Webhooks on your Discord server

Step 1: Create a Telegram bot (BotFather → token)

  1. Open Telegram and search for @BotFather
  2. Send: /newbot
  3. Choose a name + username (example: MyTipsBot)
  4. Copy the bot token BotFather gives you

This token is what your site uses to send messages through the bot.

Telegram bot tips: treat the token like a password. Don’t share it.

Step 2: Add the bot to your Telegram channel or group

If you post to a Telegram group

  1. Open your group → Add members
  2. Add your bot
  3. Make the bot an Admin (permission to send messages)

If you post to a Telegram channel

  1. Open your channel → Administrators
  2. Add the bot as an Admin
  3. Allow permission to Post messages

Without admin rights, auto-posting usually won’t work.

Step 3: Get your Telegram Chat ID (where messages will be posted)

OwnTheGame needs to know the exact destination (channel/group). Many systems call this the Chat ID.

Here’s the simple way to get it:

  1. Send a message in the target group/channel (a quick “test” is enough)
  2. Open this URL in your browser (replace YOUR_TOKEN with your bot token):
https://api.telegram.org/botYOUR_TOKEN/getUpdates
  1. Find the chat object and copy the id value, for example:
"chat":{"id":-1001234567890}

Notes:

  • Channel IDs often start with -100...
  • If you see no results in getUpdates, send a fresh message again and refresh.

Step 4: Connect Telegram inside OwnTheGame

Go to your OwnTheGame dashboard:

Tipster Script→ Subscription Config → Social media

Then:

  • Paste your Bot Token
  • Paste your Chat ID
  • Click Test Post

If the test message shows up in Telegram, your Telegram integration is ready.

Step 5: Set up Discord (Webhook → paste → test)

Discord webhooks are the easiest method for a discord tipster channel.

  1. Open your Discord server
  2. Go to the channel you want → click Edit Channel (⚙️)
  3. Open Integrations → Webhooks
  4. Click New Webhook
  5. Copy the Webhook URL

Now in OwnTheGame:

Tipster Script→ Configurations → Email / Social settings

  • Paste the webhook URL
  • Click Test Post

If the test appears in Discord, you’re connected.

Step 6: Pick what gets auto-posted (new pick only)

OwnTheGame keeps it clean: auto-posting runs only when you publish a new pick/prediction.

That means:

  • ✅ Your new betting tip is posted instantly to Telegram and/or Discord
  • ✅ No noise from edits, drafts, or deletions

This setup is perfect for a busy tipster who wants clean channels and consistent posting without spamming subscribers.

Pro tip: If you need to correct something after publishing, edit the pick on your site and (optionally) post a short manual note in Telegram/Discord like: “Updated odds in the post.”

Step 7: Customize your Telegram & Discord message (copy/paste ready)

OwnTheGame lets you control exactly how your new pick/prediction looks when it gets auto-posted. You don’t need a fixed template; you simply choose what to show and add your own text above or below it.

Add “Before” and “After” text (optional)

You can type any custom text that will appear:

  • Before → shown above the pick details
  • After → shown below the pick details

Examples you can copy/paste:

Before

🔥 New pick is live

After

Full access 👉 https://YOURDOMAIN.COM

Tip: Use Before to grab attention, and After for one clean link (pricing, subscription, or your pick page).

Choose what details get posted

Under the message fields, you can enable/disable individual parts of the auto-post:

  • Match (teams/players)
  • League (competition name)
  • Stake (units)
  • Text (your note/analysis)

If something is set to Disable, it simply won’t appear in Telegram or Discord. This helps a tipster or handicapper keep messages short and mobile-friendly.

Quick troubleshooting (common issues)

Telegram isn’t posting

Most common reasons:

  • Bot is not admin in the group/channel
  • Wrong Chat ID
  • No recent messages (so getUpdates shows nothing)

Fix: make the bot admin, send a new message, re-check Chat ID, then test again.

Discord isn’t posting

Most common reasons:

  • Webhook URL is wrong, deleted, or pasted with extra spaces
  • You don’t have permission to manage webhooks

Fix: create a new webhook and paste the fresh URL.

Done. Your picks now post themselves.

Once this is live, your workflow is simple: publish a new pick and your channels update automatically. It’s one of the fastest ways to look more professional and keep subscribers engaged.

If you’re serious about growing your community as a tipster or handicapper, this is an easy win.

Connect your channels in minutes.
