How OwnTheGame collects, processes and protects personal information — both yours as a subscriber and your members’ data that passes through the platform.
- We process your account data to run your subscription and your site.
- Your members’ data belongs to you; we process it on your instructions.
- Card payments are handled by Stripe — we never store card numbers.
- You can export or request deletion of your data at any time.
A summary for orientation only — the numbered sections below are what apply
Who we are
OwnTheGame is operated by Modulout LLC, a sports technology company, at 30 N Gould St Ste N, Sheridan, WY 82801, USA. For any question about this policy or your data, contact contact@ownthegame.app.
OwnTheGame is publishing software for sports experts. We do not publish or sell sports predictions, and we do not sell or rent personal data to anyone.
Two different roles
As a controller we process data about you, our subscriber: your account details, billing records and support correspondence.
As a processor we handle the data of your site’s visitors and members on your behalf. You decide what is collected there and why; we act on your instructions and do not use that data for our own purposes.
What we collect about you
Account data: name, email address, brand name, domain, and the sport or markets you cover.
Billing data: subscription status, invoices and payment records. Card details are collected and stored by Stripe, never by us.
Technical data: IP address, browser and device information, and log data generated when you use the dashboard.
Support data: messages you send us and the context needed to answer them.
Why we process it
To provide the platform and prepare your site (performance of our contract with you).
To take payment and keep accounting records (contract and legal obligation).
To keep the service secure, monitored and backed up (legitimate interests).
To answer support requests and tell you about material changes to the service (contract and legitimate interests).
To send optional product updates, only where you have opted in (consent, withdrawable at any time).
Your members’ data
Your site may collect member names, email addresses, account credentials, subscription status and payment records.
That data is yours. We store and process it so your site works, and we do not contact your members for our own purposes.
You are responsible for having a lawful basis to collect it, for publishing your own privacy notice on your site, and for answering your members’ data requests. We will assist where we reasonably can.
Who we share data with
Stripe — payment processing and subscription billing, under Stripe’s own privacy policy at stripe.com/privacy.
Analytics and security services — website performance, monitoring and abuse prevention.
Hosting, CDN and backup providers used to run the platform and your site.
Postmark — delivery of transactional email such as account notices, password resets and member notifications.
Marketing email is handled on our own system; we do not pass your address to a third-party mailing platform.
Telegram and Discord, where you choose to connect those channels — only the content you publish is sent.
Professional advisers or authorities, where we are legally required to disclose.
We do not sell personal data.
Where your data is held
Platform and website data is stored on servers located in the European Union.
Modulout LLC is a company registered in the United States, so some administrative and billing records — and the services we rely on, such as Stripe — may be accessed from or processed in the USA.
Where that involves a transfer out of the EU or the UK, it relies on the mechanisms permitted under applicable data protection law.
How long we keep it
Account and site data: for as long as your subscription is active.
After cancellation: the site is suspended and your data is kept for 30 days so you can obtain a copy, then deleted.
Billing and purchase records: retained for the period required by tax and accounting law.
Marketing email addresses: retained until you unsubscribe.
Support messages: retained so we can follow up on related requests.
Server logs and backup snapshots: kept for 30 days after cancellation, then removed on the normal backup cycle.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to our processing of your data, to receive a copy in a portable format, and to withdraw consent where processing relies on it.
To exercise any of these, contact contact@ownthegame.app. You may also complain to your local data protection authority.
Security
The platform is served over TLS, hosted on servers in the European Union, backed up daily and monitored for availability and intrusion. Access to production systems is restricted to staff who need it.
No system is absolutely secure. If a breach affects your data, we will notify you and, where required, the relevant authority.
Changes
We may update this policy. Material changes will be notified by email or in the dashboard before they take effect. This version was last updated on August 2026.
